For the avoidance of doubt I will NEVER RENT FROM SIXT AGAIN. From what I've seen on the Net, there are many people who have had problems with Sixt. Tell your friends and family to save themselves the trouble and rent their car from any other agency.

I thought the matter was done. Well today I received a dunning email from Sixt.

HERE. They don’t “reserve” your vehicle they just take your money and screw your trip up.

Our service was very fast. The car we were given was exactly what we were expecting. Pick up and drop off was fast, simple, and the employees were nice. We got a great deal and since we did not cause any damage, we were not charged for any. I would definitely recommend Sixt for price and convenience and will most certainly be renting from them again.

I get back to the Atlanta airport as advised and the car drop off was painless except they told me that they could not print out a receipt which would have to be sent by email. When I got the receipt the daily rate was substantially higher than what it was supposed to be. I was finally able to communicate to Sixt and they told me that the rate change was the result of the change in the rental period. I objected and noted that the contract did not set out a different daily rate based on the number of days rented.

I didn't have any real issue with my rental, but in reading the reviews it seems there is a lot of angst about the "return flight" requirement. Since I had a return flight it was not a problem for me. Paula in reading your responses to these complaints several times you've noted that the return flight is only for people paying with a debit card. Either that policy has changed since you made those comments and it now includes credit card customers also or you have counter agents who do not know the details of that policy. Like I said I had a return flight so it wasn't a problem............but I also was not renting with a debit card. I use a separate credit card for all of my business travel expenses. Even though it was a credit card, they took a picture of my return flight and they took my picture.

The rental agent, a very nice German woman, noticed that I was booked for 3 days even though I was only going to be using the car for 2 days and 3 hours. She told me that if I brought the car back 2 hours early I would only be charged for two days. At no time did she mention a change in the daily rate.

I had a great experience from beginning to end. Getting the car was quick and easy, and the car was really nice. I had to return the car to the airport at 3:00 a.m. and didn't know what to expect. The attendant was just driving out of the lot with another car as I was coming in, so I thought I would have to wait, but he actually turned around when he saw me and took care of me right away! Great Service!

UNBELIEVABLY HORRIBLE SERVICE! Awful. My dad and I PAID already for the rental and we get here to pick it up and they “don’t have it”. Well why did we give you money and reserve a car if you weren’t going to actually reserve it? Then the guy offers us a “smaller” car and won’t give a discount or anything for the inconvenience of now having to fit 7 people in a smaller car? Nope. He said the smaller car is an “upgrade”. I’m sorry, but that makes ZERO SENSE. So now while their awful employee is arguing with us instead of trying to be accommodating, the SUV AND THE VAN are both gone. Now we have to wait 30 minutes for a van to be “turned around” that we already reserved in the first place. there better be some kind of HUGE inconvenience discount for this hassle as now we are all running extremely late and will hit traffic. THE WORST customer service. I wish I could give zero stars. DONT RENT FROM

First problem was they wanted to rent me a car in poor condition with a half page of single spaced defects. They did put me in a nearly new car so no complaints there but it cost me 30 minutes to switch cars.
